Project Description: This site is near the current location of the Albany Airport and was settled by the communal religious society known as the Shakers in 1775. The Society received a substantial legislative grant for stabilization of the 1915 Shaker Barn Complex. Since the grant was awarded on a reimbursement basis, the EPIP line of credit was an essential component of the project. The Society repaired the slate hay barn roof, replaced the metal dairy barn roof and stabilized the manure shed. The manure shed was in very poor condition and required foundation replacement, roof replacement, siding and framing repairs.
