ICYMI: Researching Your Historic House
On January 25, our Southern Tier Field Consultant Janna Rudler hosted a webinar with Cindy Falk from the Cooperstown Graduate Program all about how to piece together the history of an old house. Cindy went over specific sources, both physical and documentary, to employ when researching historic houses and other buildings. Using a real house as a case study, attendees were able to see a step-by-step approach to gathering data that can inform a rehabilitation or a National Register nomination, help put together a compelling real estate listing, and add relevant information to wider municipal preservation plans.
