Meet Our New Director of Preservation

We are thrilled to announce that Caitlin Meives is joining the League team as our new Director of Preservation. Caitlin Meives most recently served as the Director of Preservation at The Landmark Society of Western New York, a regional historic preservation nonprofit based in Rochester that serves a nine-county area. During her 13 years at The Landmark Society, she organized the New York Statewide Preservation Conference; co-founded the Young Urban Preservationists (YUPs); and worked with municipal officials, developers, neighborhood and community advocates, and property owners of all types to assist in the rehabilitation and revitalization of historic buildings, structures, landscapes, and communities. Prior to her employment at The Landmark Society, she served as the Survey Coordinator at the Kansas State Historic Preservation Office. Caitlin holds a M.S. in historic preservation from the University of Vermont and B.A. in history and Spanish from the University of Rochester. She serves on the Board of Directors for the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions and the Gustav Stickley House Foundation.

As she takes on the role of Director of Preservation for the League, she will serve as the organization’s chief preservation professional. She will provide oversight for our grant and technical services programs, the Seven to Save endangered properties program, on-site and virtual workshops, and community outreach. We are excited for Caitlin to find ways to expand the reach and effectiveness of this programming as she settles into her new role at the League.
