Hudson River Lighthouses in the (1980s) News

This news clip from the 1980s explores the remaining Hudson Valley lighthouses and the issues they faced. Sadly, not much has changed in the ensuing decades. You also get a look inside the Seven to Save-listed Hudson-Athens Lighthouse along with some of its last residents — Emil Brunner, the last civilian lightkeeper, and his daughter Emily, who was a dedicated volunteer of the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse Preservation Society until her passing in 2017.
